#2 DONE!

Finally I have finished drawing 2. This drawing was a little difficult, because of the yellow in the left side of the ring pop rapper. The refection, I think, really shows and it looks so glossy. Hopefully my professor sees it that way too.

My 3rd drawing has a lot of dimension and I'm having to bump up my contrast level, more then I am comfortable with.

On Monday we have review in class. I hope it goes well and I get some good feed back that will help me with my future drawings.

Animal Love!

I am a huge animal lover. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved every little creature.  I loved catching little garden snakes and toads that were in our yard and even had a pet rat. Now that I am a big girl I have the most amazing dogs in the world and I love them more then some people can understand.

This is my beautiful baby girl, Sage!!! I've had her since January 2010.

This is Baby Odin!!! He is my boyfriend's puppy. We've had him since this summer.

Oh, did I mention the litter of six kittens?
Well they are adorable and they turned two weeks today.

DIY Present Bow!

I how expensive just wrapping a gift can be. Especially if you want it to look cute, so my favorite thing to do is wrap gifts with things I have around the house. It makes it more unique and special. One great way to my bows for your gifts is with old magazines or book pages.

1. Cut out 9 strips. Four 10 inches, two 8 inches, two 6inches and one 4 inches

2. Staple them to form circles

3. Layer the different lengths on top of each other to form the bow

4. Put a drop of glue on the top and place your smallest circle on top of the glue.

Prints I'm Loving!

I find myself browsing on Etsy all the time. I absolutely love some of the print shops.

"Always Be Different" by Jessica Rose
"Dream Catcher" by Alyssa Nassner

"Dream Catcher No.1" by Susana Parada

I'm a bit obsessed with dream catchers. I even have one tattooed on my inner arm and a few hanging in my bedroom. They are just so beautiful and represent so many things. To me it reminds me to follow my dreams and catch them.

Recap of last week!

Well this was one crazy week. I have been getting ready for our bronze pour in sculpture, working, finished the banner for my friends bridal shower and I have been working on my drawing.

I was inspired from the banner from Elsie's wedding. I loved following her wedding on her blog A Beautiful Mess. You should check it out.
So, for her banner I just use newsprint so it wouldn't be to stiff. Then I just used acrylic paint, watered it down and painted it on.
Finally, to hang it I got some hemp and tied each piece together. It ended up better then I expected and I was pretty proud of how it turned out!

The slow progress of my drawing... I am hoping to start on my 3rd one this week. In my opinion, this one is turning out much better then my 1st drawing. I am getting used to drawing with soft pastels again and not being so heavy handed.
Well it was a crazy week, but I got a lot finished and finally feel like I am on track for the semester.

Monday Madness!

I know, it's Tuesday. That is just how "mad" my Monday was. So like I said I'm doing a series on junk food. My first two are candy and I finished my first one yesterday!!! Hooray!!!

Tomorrow I'm starting my second one. It is going to be with a spree and ring pop rapper.

This week I will be working on decorations for my good friends bridal shower. I am so excited and I will keep you posted on my progress.

Have a beautiful week!
